The first day of fall is September 22nd and I’m excited!
Despite being born in the spring, the fall is my favorite time of year.
It represents change, reincarnation and perceived dormancy – like a cocoon!
This time of year brings to mind harvest.
Sunlight is decreasing now, so I find it best to eat an abundance of foods that grow closer to the ground than summer vine foods – also foods that are the color of the sun (yellows and oranges) like the many variety of squash, beans and lentils – along with your 365 a year greens of course 😉
The latter part of the year is the perfect time for lots of soups and stews too.
Spiced teas with cinnamon and ginger to warm you up on cool mornings.
I love this time of year!
Pumpkin pie, sweet potato pies and peach cobblers…mmmm 🙂
Let’s not forget hot cocoa.
I guess I shouldn’t have written this post while on a cleanse eh? lol
Now’s a good time to start planning your Thanksgiving dinner too – especially if like me, you are making it an all natural, vegan friendly affair – but have meat/picky eaters to please and needs lots of time to find recipes, create recipes and plan 🙂
